Just pretend I’m not here

I died before birth

I weave my own myth from the fabric of dark sky and stars

the ghosts are here dancing among the molecules

I almost lost them amidst the waves crashing

it was a night to drown in

like a den of hibernating snakes

the land falls silent and people weep and scream

to seek forgiveness from darkling ghosts

and they wake up damaged

swallowed whole in fragments

Last night the stars were splices of film:

and I watched as the moon was born out of the clouds
