"full of shadows" by megan kennedy

Sometimes I get lost trying to capture something that has long been extinct. Like old memories of love I try to reenact, or how sounds at night were always monsters. But I can't pretend I don't know the noises a refrigerator makes, or that spells to summon ex-lovers don't really work. At best, all I get are glimpses, like something shiny in the corner of my eye that may or may not be a diamond, but most likely a dime, but then it ends up being a bottle cap. 

With that said, all the poems in this issue are definitely diamonds. I found them gleaming in my inbox. They will never go extinct. They will never get lost.
