Falcon

July 11, 2022 Claudia Dawson

12” diameter, color pencils

Affirmation: “Let me rise above my fear and soar like the one I am meant to be”

All her life Maureen Frank dabbled in arts and crafts. As a kid she sketched her favorite cartoon characters and teen idols. During her early adult life while working as a software engineer, she participated in several community college art classes knowing she could create art if she wanted to but had yet to find anything that truly captured her heart. Her art career began with coloring kids coloring books and grew exponentially when she discovered the art of Mandalas. In 1999 she and her husband traveled to Egypt which triggered the spark, the “happening” that inspired her to create her own mandala designs and paintings. Many of her inspirations came from nature, architecture, and culture. Along with creating a full portfolio of color pencil, watercolor, acrylic, and mixed-media mandalas, she also self-published 20 mandala coloring books with the intention of inspiring others to awaken their creative spirit through mandalas.
